Mommy and Me Giveaways is most definitely a PR-friendly blog!  Amy and I spend a lot of time looking for sponsors for reviews and giveaways.  If you have a product that is appropriate for our blog that you would like us to review, with or without a giveaway, please contact us at mommy.me.giveaways@gmail.com.

Here are the details of how our giveaways work and what we expect from the company:

The company must send a product to either Amy or me at their own expense.

Amy or I will try out and review the product.  We normally try to get the reviews up in a timely manner, anywhere from 2-4 weeks, though there are times that life gets in the way and it might take us a little bit longer than planned.

We will only write good product reviews.  If we find we cannot write a good review for your product, we will email you and let you know.  We will not lie and make a good review when we are not impressed with the product.  We only give our honest opinions.  But we do not like to write bad things about companies, so we choose to just not write the bad reviews.  If this happens, we are not responsible for sending the product back unless the company chooses to pay the shipping charges.

If one of us finds that they cannot write a good review, or the product just does not work well for our child, we will send it to the other for them to try out and hopefully they will be able to write a good review.  This has happened in a few cases of cloth diapers.  I have had a lot of problems and frustrations with cloth diapering Davey and in the past have had to send some review diapers to Amy, and they worked well with Jessica and she was able to write a good review.

We run our giveaways for 3 to 4 weeks.  There are usually several ways to enter.  We like to have a required entry that will ensure our readers actually go to the sponsor’s website and look at their products or information.  Then there are several extra ways to enter, such as following us on Twitter and Facebook and subscribing to our blog, and then if the company is on any social networks, youtube, or has their own blog or newsletter, we have our readers follow those as well for extra entries.  Also we allow our readers to tweet about the giveaway 1 time per day for extra entries.  This helps spread the word, not only about our blog and giveaway, but also about the sponsor’s company.  We also try to tweet about the giveaways daily.

At the end of the giveaway we pick a winner using random.org.  We post the winner on our blog and email the winner to get their shipping information and any choices they might have about the product such as size or color if the sponsor allows that.

We will give the sponsor the winner’s shipping information, and the sponsor is responsible for shipping the winner’s prize in a timely manner.

In our reviews, we link to the company and product page several times.  We also put a link using the company’s logo on our Sponsors page.  If the company sponsors a giveaway with a product that has a value of $100 or more, we will link to them in our sidebar under a “Top Sponsors” section which will be seen on every page of our blog.  If you sponsor with a prize valued under $100 but want to be in our Top Sponsors section, you can pay us $25 and we will feature your logo there for 6 months.

Please note that we only recently started using Google Friend Connect and Facebook.  We have been tracking our followers with Twitter since we started our blog in January 2010, so that is our more accurate number of followers.  Also we have just recently started tracking our unique visitors, and we can give you that information upon request.
